The 5^th edition of the All-Russian Research and Practice Conference of Young Scientists and Specialists “Ensuring the effective functioning of the gas industry” was held on May 16-17 in Novy Urengoy.

More than 300 young specialists representing 40 organizations from 25 cities of Russia and abroad took part in the event.

For the first time such a conference was held with the participation of Russian and foreign Councils of young scientists and experts in the oil and gas industry.

LUOC specialists presented interesting and informative reports at the conference, which were awarded winning places by the contest committee.

Alexander Zhukov and Anastasia Sorokina spoke in the section “Development and operation of gas fields” with a report on “Experience and prospects for stimulation of gas wells in complex reservoirs”.

The proposed technology of acid fracturing under the considered conditions seems to be an advantageous alternative to acid treatment, as its application will allow involving low-permeability reservoirs into the development and increasing production at the field.

Rustam Abidov and Alexander Vasiliev-Chebotarev spoke in the section “Modeling, Automation and Control in the Gas Industry” with a report on “Using 3D modeling and training videos to improve the efficiency of field equipment maintenance and repair”.

With the help of 3D videos shot by a professional team using specialized 3D software (programs for working with 3D objects), every employee of the company will be able to study the internal design of any equipment without disassembling it in reality.
