On 15 September 2018 LUKOIL Overseas North Shelf AS (LONS) team have participated in their first-ever Oslo Marathon - a prestigious sporting event, that takes place in the capital of Norway since 1981.

In the last decades of the XXth century, marathon running had become a major sporting event across the world. The largest capitals such as New York, London, Stockholm etc. put marathons in the calendar of the top public events. Naturally, Oslo was also in the mainstream.
By the end of eighties, Oslo Marathon became as popular as Holmenkollen ski festival. ”Of course I’ll run the Oslo Marathon” was its slogan adressed to all residents of Oslo.
In 2018 four distances were suggested for the runners: marathon, half-marathon, 10 and 3 km. The modern track was laidthrough the streets of central Oslo and along the beautiful seaside of Oslofjord. As before, this year’s event has attracted participants from all over the world, including Spain, Germany, France and even Mexico.
LUKOIL Overseas North Shelf AS team has started to prepare for the race well in advance. Company’s employees could clearly be seen from far away in their corporate white t-shirts with LUKOIL logo. They started altogether and finished with very good times.
The event was truly a very special occasion not only for the runners, but for their families, friends and colleagues who actively support them. It was a very nice, warm and sunny Saturday afternoon with many participants coming from outside of Oslo and abroad.
