LUKOIL Uzbekistan teamed up with the Tashkent Department of Emergency Situations to conduct a mock earthquake drill for office and contractor personnel.
Such trainings are regularly conducted in LUKOIL Uzbekistan in order to insure safety of personnel and hazard resistance of equipment.
The exercise began with an alarm system and the evacuation of staff. LUKOIL’s emergency response unit then checked the building to find anyone left behind or injured. An injured employee, represented by a manikin, was located in the building and carried out on a stretcher to receive first aid.
Second victim was evacuated from the fourth floor of the building with a help of special equipment. The exercise ended with a demonstration of some of the Department’s latest emergency response equipment.
As recent events in Mexico and the United States have once again demonstrated, it is imperative to hold regularly scheduled emergency training exercises in case real disaster strikes one day.
